Cultural Endowment of Estonia

The Audiovisual Art Endowment’s primary objective is to foster and promote Estonian audiovisual culture by providing financial support for the production of films, organising film events, and engaging in other activities that enhance the prominence of audiovisual art within Estonian society.

The Endowment offers project benefits for the purpose of developing and producing films. Legal entities primarily engaged in film production are eligible to apply for this project benefit. A prerequisite for receiving the benefit is the commitment to cost-sharing and/or co-financing a minimum of 10% of the project’s total costs. The following financial limits, approved by the Endowment, shall be adhered to:

  • Production of a full-length feature film: Up to 100,000 euros
  • Production of a full-length documentary film: Up to 25,000 euros
  • Production of a half-hour documentary film: Up to 7,500 euros
  • Production of a short feature film: Up to 20,000 euros
  •  Production of an animated film: Up to 2,000 euros per minute, with a maximum total benefit of 75,500 euros

Application deadlines for the Endowment’s project benefits are as follows:

  • February 20
  • May 20
  • August 20
  • November 20
Minority co-production
  • Support: 100 000 € for full-length feature film; 25 000 € for full-length documentary
  • Deadlines: 4 times a year; February, May, August, November
  • Supported projects: full-length feature films and documentaries, half-hour documentaries, short feature film and animated film
